Week Five :: Presentation Slides

Everyone deals with stress differently.. Some people need to burn off steam by going for a run or releasing their aggression in the boxing ring, some people destress with meditation or blobbing out in front of the tv, reading a book, socializing, having a drink with friends or just simply taking a break from what they are doing.

When you are stuck inside your car for over an hour everyday these coping mechanisms just aren’t possible for the thousands of people who commute to work..

They are all trying to get somewhere and are all getting frustrated by the amounts of traffic, road works, rude drivers, slow pedestrians etc. pretty much anything that is out of their control and stopping them from getting to their destination.

This is not only annoying and frustrating but it is also effecting their mental and physical wellbeing. Driving stress decreases productivity throughout the day, decreases work satisfaction and also decreases LIFE SATISFACTION. These people are commuting to a job that is making them hate themselves and is also harmful to their health.

We need to find a way to help these people simplify their life whilst gaining control. We also want to minimize their stress to achieve better mental and physical wellbeing.

Week Four :: Designing the Dossier (Final)

Melinda and I worked together to collaborate what we both had to offer; Melinda with her illustrative skills, and myself with an aspiration toward layout design. This is what we came finalised.

Week Four :: Designing the Dossier

Melinda is a great illustrator! As part of being a team, we were quick to discuss what aspects we could each bring to the project. With my preferences being in layout and print, Melinda's are in illustrations, which truly came in handy for developing specific and unique imagery for our brief. What follows are the drawings that we were able to scan through and translate into vector (for our printing purposes).

Week Four :: Designing the Dossier

Layouts and print are some of my most favoured aspects of design. It was established early on, within the group, that I take this on as my role.

Here are the beginning concepts of how the dossier looked during the early stages of development.

*Note the black rectangles are to allow for images to be placed in the layout.
** The horizontal lines along the bottom of the spread was suggested to incorporate the idea of 'closing traffic lanes'; a concept that may inflict stress on a time-conscious driver.

Week Three :: Persona 3

This is John. John is a middle-aged man who works in the city of Wellington, but lives out of town.
John commutes into the city on a daily basis, and is often stressed by traffic or irresponsible drivers that may cause him to be late to work.
